A primary target group for the Computer Dictionary, English-Russian, is computer users at all levels who are familiar with the above description, and who need a precise understanding of the vast amount of data.
Two other important target groups for the Computer Dictionary are hardware and software producers for whom the need for documentation involves translation from English into Russian, and all others to whom digitali/.ed data control and process control are important.
As is the case with all other L&H Dictionaries, the source material originates from L&H's large database compiled by professional translators and expert linguists, comprising millions of terms and expressions from a large number of sectors.
The primary source material for the L&H Computer Dictionary is authentic translations made for computer companies by professional translators, including brochures, user's guides, instructions, software programs, product information, technical descriptions, specifications, standards, patent documents and service manuals.
A number of colleagues and other experts have contributed to the Computer Dictionary. Editorial contributors and external consultants have all made an invaluable and enthusiastic effort
